One of the best for the beginner

Like Gerle, and perhaps Auer, this is a book that an advanced beginner can easily learn from. So many books on Violin Playing, e.g. Szigeti, Galamian, and Flesch require an advanced knowledge of violin technique. This book, though not for an absolute beginner, is very accessible and really does get down to the "Basic Principles of Violin Playing" maybe even more than Gerle.

Wonderfully Organized! Beautifully Presented!

This was an absolutely beautifully laid out book. It contains 'round 40 full color full page prints of paintings of the dragonlance saga. Along with the prints there is also background info. on how the artists put the images together, along with an intriguing storyline that ran with the images. An absolutely fantastic book... can't say much more about it!

After searching used bookstores and libraries for four years, I was finally able to obtain a copy of this book. From dragons to a gnome chicken-plucker, you will find it all in this compendium. It is interesting to see the design process of the artwork and read their creators' insights. The paintings are dazzling. These artists are truly talented to be able to capture the raw emotion and thrilling action from memorable scenes of the Dragonlance saga onto canvas. "Death of Sturm" by Larry Elmore, "The Last Spell of Fistandantilus" by Keith Parkinson, and "The Portal", also by Larry Elmore are striking examples of this. "The Art of the Dragonlance" is a fine companion to your Dragonlance collection.

In the 19th century, there was the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, and in the 20th century there was Pearl Harbor and the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
Until April 14, 1865, John Wilkes Booth was one of the most famous actors of his time, and President Abraham Lincoln had even watched him perform. But his most significant performance at a theater did not take place on the stage. That night, Booth became one of history’s most infamous assassins when he assassinated President Lincoln at Ford's Theatre in Washington, D.C.
Although Robert E. Lee's Army of Northern Virginia had surrendered days earlier, Booth believed the war was not yet over because Confederate General Joseph E. Johnston's army was still fighting the Union Army, so he and his group of conspirators plotted to kill Lincoln and other top officials in a bid to decapitate the federal government and help the South.
Perhaps not surprisingly, the actor’s flair for the dramatic came at a cost to the plot. It took almost no time for the shocked public and the federal government to begin unraveling Booth’s conspiracy, which had mostly faltered from the beginning. Following the shooting, America’s most famous manhunt commenced, which itself became the stuff of legends.
November 22, 1963 started as a typical Friday, and many Americans were unaware that President Kennedy was even heading to Dallas, Texas. John and Jackie arrived in Dallas in the morning, with Texas Governor John Connally alongside them and Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson due to arrive later to meet them there. As the First Couple rode with the Connallys in an open motorcade en route to a speech Kennedy would deliver later. As they waved to the people lining the streets, around 12:30 p.m. Central Standard Time, Governor Connally’s wife turned around to the first couple and said, “Mr. President, you can't say Dallas doesn't love you.”
Moments later, the most controversial assassination in American history took place as a series of shots were fired at the motorcade. The indelible images provided by the Zapruder film of Kennedy being hit in the throat and head, followed by Jackie crawling over the backseat toward the trunk are now instantly recognizable. Within minutes, the news of the shooting began to spread from Dallas across the nation, and everyone’s worst fears were confirmed when the President was declared dead about half an hour after the shooting.
In the wake of the shooting, Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested, proclaimed his innocence, and was then murdered himself by Jack Ruby two days later. The day after that, the President was given a state funeral and procession. The unbelievable chain of events that took place in those 72 hours understandably left the nation shell-shocked.

Amazing contemporary romance!

Fairytale Not Required is contemporary romance at its best. Filled with raw emotion and realism, we easily become absorbed in the passion, drama and romance of its two protagonists. There is no holding back when we become swept away by the tidal wave of romance palpable in this amazing contemporary read.

In Fairytale Not Required, we delve into the fiery and vibrant world of Astrid, a character whom I was immediately drawn to in No Knight Needed. Stephanie Rowe has successfully created a strong female protagonist in Astrid, one who is so unbelievably complex and realistic that when her back story unfolded I was completely immersed in her story. And what a heartbreaking story it is!

Very early on in the novel, we are held captive by the delicious introduction of the newest addition to Birch Crossing, Jason. Jason, much like Astrid, is an equally complex individual; although one that carries demons of his own. It is when these two amazing, complicated characters' lives become entwined that the real passion and drama begins.

Fairytale Not Required is an compelling read that is both hot and modern. It should most definitely be on your "Don't think, just buy now!" list. Bex `n' Books Rated 5 phenomenal fairies!

Stephanie knocks it out of the park with this one! Fairytale Not Required has everything you could possible want in a romance...
Amazing characters that are both trying to run from or forget their pasts only to run right smack dab into each other. Jason is ready and willing to open his heart to Astrid, but Astrid has her doubts about anything good actually being able to happen to her. Jason is determined to convince her otherwise.
This is a must read story that will grip your heart and have you staying up way past bedtime trying to finish.

This is a quick paced story that grabs a hold of you right from the start and won't let go. It's about two people that have both been hurt very deeply and need to learn how to trust and not judge each other by someone else's actions. They also have to learn about themselves and face their own demons.
I am very taken with Stephanie Rowe's writing and I haven't found any of her books that I don't love.

A great book, and one I have given as gifts to family and friends. The best modern effort to gaze on the beauty of God; the interest of which is severely lacking in this generation of believers. It will definitely help to stir passion for God, and will provide fresh material to use in private/personal worship. The content is contagious, and is even better when it is shared with others. Chapter 4 on What Handel Saw, is easily worth the price of the book. The chapter on Microscopic Majesty still lingers with me after several years of first reading it.

I will refrain from saying much more other than that I strongly encourage you to buy this book, maybe even an extra copy to share with someone you love. Read it prayerfully, not critically, and prepare to have your passion for the beautiful God, and the God of beauty, stirred afresh, or maybe even for the first time.

Don't miss this book!

I have been waiting and waiting for this book to be available in Kindle format! I purchased it when it first came out in paperback. It had a profound effect on my life. I was beginning to think that I was the only one who thought like Sam Storms in this area, other than John Piper and Jonathan Edwards. I have given it as first choice for a gift to people who I know want to grow in Christ. It has been the most life changing book I have read, other than Desiring God by John Piper. Sadly, many people I have given the book to have told me they "just didn't get it"! I can't recommend this book highly enough! For that matter, anything by Sam Storms comes highly recommended by me!
