Excellent RPG for new and experienced players with some let downs from the publisher.

This is a great crunch-light tabletop RPG overall - I particularly like the fact it doesn't use the typical polyhedral dice that the typical fantasy games use, as it makes it easier for new players to invest in the system. The production quality is great and the value for what you are getting is superb. Why am I knocking it one star then? Really light bestiary section adds some additional work on the GM to create/convert creatures (though there is a bestiary coming out supposedly at the end of the month). The biggest reason for the loss of a star is that the book EXPLICITLY tells you to go to greenronin.com to download reference and initiative sheets on page 87; but they don't actually exist. You can find fan produced versions, but I find it kind of sad that a company with the clout of Green Ronin can't follow through with such a simple thing as provide downloads they themselves said would be available.

Nice flexible system that can be customized for the type of game that the group wants to play. One drawback is that the adversary section is very small and not a lot of support for this book yet.

Great fun, book could use some beefing up.

i've been a PC and a GM for this system for a few games now and i love it. it's fast paced and simple simple rules make it great for beginners or anyone who doesn't want to calculate how many turns a torch will last you. very narrative driven and with only one prefab campaign (titans grave) available right now it's heavily dependent on home brew adventures and a good GM. the monster section however is pretty slim and chaaracter creation could be explained better explained. overall though whenever i sit down with this game on the table i have a huge amount of fun.

Loved it!

Wow - this is going to be one of my favorites from a favorite author. I loved this book. Ms. Brooks writing style has always reminded me of another favorite author of mine, Betty Neels. This one did too and anyone who reads both of these authors will know what I mean when they read the book. With that said, I have to say I connected with the characters in this book right off. They are both emotionally scarred, him much more so than her, but their story is so believable. Their chemistry is sizzling, the dialogue is interesting and the storyline is realistic. I definitely recommend this book and it is definitely a keeper for me. Well done Ms. Brooks!

Seraphina Vincent never became Conrad Quentin's mistress. Sephy stood in for Conrad's formidable secretary Madge Watkins, but no one else was willing to stick their heads in the noose of Conrad Quentin's right-hand...
So Sephy was volunteered, very much against her own will.
And it is made clear on day one that Sephy was in over her head as Ms Watkins replacement.
Conrad always had to be in control of everything and everyone around him, but so handsome and rich he got away with it...
Then he met his Waterloo when Sephy stepped into his life.
Now he had to rethink all the rules he had laid down for himself, and everyone he came into contact with.
Sephy was warm, loving, kind and considerate. Conrad wasn't sure if she was real, but he made it his first priority to find out.
Once Conrad discovered Sephy was a what-you-see-is-what-you-get kind of woman, he wanted her more than he wanted to breath, but only on his terms.
When Sephy wouldn't slip into the slot Conrad had made for her, and he had to revise his thinking once again.

AWFUL!!!

I hardly know where to begin with how disappointed I was with this book. I actually checked the original publish date sure that it would be around 1950, and was surprised that the first printing was this century! The dialog and writing style was almost archaic, making the characters cardboard. With conversation such as "You disapprove of me, don't you, my stern little secretary with the golden eyes?", and description such as "Which exposed a V of tanned flesh and dark curling body hair." I thought both the H and H were prigs, which I suppose means they were compatible, but not people I wanted to read about. Needless to say, I deleted this one from my Kindle pretty fast!

About the Author
John W. Seavey, MPH, PhD, is Professor Emeritus and past Everett B. Sackett Professor at the University of New Hampshire, USA, Department of Health Management and Policy, College of Health and Human Services. Dr. Seavey's 30 years of teaching health policy and health policy analysis courses in undergraduate and MPH programs as well as the capstone course in MPH programs brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this publication. He has been the recipient of the College of Health and Human Services Teaching Award (1986), UNH Outstanding Associate Professor Award (1991), UNH Bill Kidder Faculty Award (1999), College of Health and Human Services Distinguished Career Research Award (2003), UNH Faculty Social Justice Award (2005), and Distinguished UNH Professor (2005). Dr. Seavey has published two books, written numerous scholarly articles, book reviews, and policy reports. He is a former board member and Chair of the AUPHA. Semra A. Aytur, PhD, MPH, is Assistant Professor, Department of Health Management and Policy, University of New Hampshire, USA, where she teaches courses in health policy, social and behavioral health, and biostatistics. Her research interests focus on relationships between policy, environment, and systems change to promote healthy behaviors and prevent chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. She received a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation/Active Living Research Dissertation Award, among other research awards from the University of North Carolina and the University of New Hampshire. About the Author
Melissa Goodrich grew up in a dome on a hill in Minnesota, and now lives in the desert with her love and lazy Holland Lop. A Hallucinatory, Exhilarating Experience

With a variety of stories and flash fiction that range from the slightly surreal to the poetically unhinged, Daughters of Monsters showcases its author's range and skill. A poison cloud moves across the American West consuming everything in its path, juvenile angels are bred and distributed for some nefarious purpose by an agricultural corporation, a heartbroken astronaut stranded in space begins to edit his online dating profile...Melissa Goodrich doesn't stop to explain any of it, but rather plunges headlong into the worlds she's created, encouraging us to follow. You can question why things happen the way they do, you can register some private objections, but the important thing is to keep moving, keep reading, and maybe, if you're lucky, you'll come out the other end of this startling collection with a private insight, something that you can hold close when the real world seems to make just as little sense.

Great platform to learn Object Oriented Programming

This is the first technical book that I've finished cover to cover, from a list of many that I've purchased. Mike McMillan explains the basics of Object Oriented programming in a .NET environment in a concise manner that is easy to understand and follow. At the end of each chapter there's exercises to complete, giving you the chance to practice hands-on, the material covered.

This book provides a great platform for those wanting to move from a procedural based style of programming to one that is object based. I highly recommend it.

A Great Book: Concise and Informative!

I had the privalege of studying under Mr. McMillan when he was preparing for this book. Each one of the concepts and topics in the book were covered in class. Mr. McMillan is an excellent teacher and communicator--two essential qualities for a programming book. Whether you are a VB rookie or have a background in pre-OO Vb, this book is a quick, competant and very readable guide on how to learn and best mould VB.NET to your demands.

After the previous glowing reviews of this book I bought it hoping to get some special insite in OO. If you have any experience with VB.NET this is just a review. I have gleened much deeper conceptual understaning of OO from fellow programmers. If you are brand new to VB.NET this might be an OK book. I was dissappointed in the lack of depth.

I have read many books on dowsing and the art of using the pendulum. This is one I would not recommend on any level. There are many other books that are so much better. "Pendulum Magic" by R. Webster is great. "Letter to Robin" by Walt Woods is not only instructive its a free download. This eBook? should have been published as a New Age eArticle. The punctuation is so bad that you need to reread a sentence two or three times before you get the meaning. To say I'm disappointed is putting it mildly. Even at .99 it was a bad investment. Save your money, look for something else.
